Lisa Ashley comes to us with a vast musical background which spans many decades from her days at DePaul as a music performance major with an emphasis on French horn and trumpet which led to her becoming a free lance musician for many years performing with the Lyric Opera, the Shubert Theater, The Marriott Lincolnshire and many other venues. Many summers you can see Lisa performing in the Wheaton Municipal band. Lisa is no stranger here at Perry’s Music! She purchased her first guitar from Rob back in 1996, and it was the best decision of her life as it led to a new avenue of sharing music with kids. Her guitar playing has taken her into performing with her church worship team at Crossroads Community Church in Carol Stream, directing music for several preschools, and she currently continues expanding her education with an emphasis on Special Needs children and adults. Her teaching style emphasizes the importance of being an all around musician: Reading music, understanding how to read and play chords and scales, and for those who wish, basic to advanced theory and improvisation is explored. Most of all, she likes to make it fun! Lisa has taught here at Perry's Music in the past and now she has returned. We welcome her back with open arms. She is wonderful with children and is available to teach on Monday evenings.

Jon Studtmann is an accomplished teacher and performer who has taught thousands of lessons since becoming a member of the Perry's family in 1993. In addition to guitar and piano instruction, he also performs and does session work. His musical background stems from the classical discipline, having begun piano lessons at the age of 5 and later studying trombone for 7 years. A largely self-taught guitarist, his skill and mastery of the instrument can be attributed to his strong foundation in music theory. He has performed alongside Kenny Rogers as well as with Paul Freeman and the Chicago Sinfonietta at Orchestra Hall. In his free time, you'll catch Jon at the gym or riding his bicycle.
